General Dentistry

We are experienced in all routine general dentistry. We are here for you with routine checkups, hygiene, extractions, fillings and tooth aches

  • It is important for everyone to have regular checkups every 6-12months. Brooke and Mikaela are both able to complete checkups with you. Some checkups are quick and easy, while others will require more time, discussion and possible xrays.

  • Dental Hygiene (or “clean”) is an important maintenance procedure to keep your gums and teeth healthy to try and prevent future issues! For most people it is important to have a clean every 6-12 months. Mikaela is highly experienced in Dental Hygiene and uses the “Air Flow” device that improves the result and comfort.

  • Brooke is very experienced in Dental Extractions for both children and adults. Mikaela is able to extract baby (deciduous) teeth. Some extractions are for orthodontic reasons and others for infection/disease.

We work hard to make any dental procedure as comfortable as possible. Please let us know if you require happy gas (Nitrous Oxide Sedation) and Brooke can book this in.

  • Both Brooke and Mikaela are able to provide fillings for children, while Brooke can provide fillings for Adults as well. They use the latest materials for the best results.

  • A “Tooth Ache” can be for a variety of reasons. These can be extremely painful and we will work to find you an appointment as soon as possible. For really urgent issues (eg. facial swelling) we suggest you present to your doctor or the local hospital first.

Sedation Dentistry

All of our staff understand that many people can be anxious about coming to the dentist. We take every care to ensure that your visit is positive and comfortable. For those who require a bit more support we offer sedation options that you can read about below. For more information please contact our reception.

  • Dr Brooke Beath is very experienced in Nitrous Oxide Sedation. She regularly upskills and uses the latest techniques to ensure comfort and safety. The clinic uses the most up to date equipment, including the “Silhouette” nasal mask as well as the “Matrix” system. If you are interested in using Nitrous Oxide to help you complete your Dental treatment please let both reception and Brooke know.

  • We know that some people find it extremely difficult even coming through a dentist’s door. In special circumstances we can use oral sedation to help.

We never use Oral Sedation and Nitrous Oxide Sedation together. If you feel that you may need Oral Sedation, please let reception know and you will likely need to have a “checkup” appointment to discuss this further.

Specialised Services

We provide a number of specialised services. We have a particular interest in the provision of care to children.

  • Both Brooke and Mikaela are very experienced in the treatment of children. They have both received numerous paediatric dental awards. Our team really focuses on providing a positive and fun experience for your child.

  • Brooke is experienced in the practice of Crowns and Bridges. We can provide both Gold or Tooth Coloured Crowns. These procedures take more than one visit. There is usually a 3-4 week turnaround time between appointments. We will discuss these details when preparing your treatment plan.

  • For teeth that have deep infections into the nerve, the only option to keep your tooth is to have "Root Canal” treatment followed by a Crown. Multiple appointments are needed to complete a treatment like this. Depending on individual circumstances, sometimes a referral to a specialist is required. Brooke will always discuss your options before starting treatment.

  • Periodonitics refers to the gum and bone that holds your teeth in place! This is the foundation of a healthy mouth. Periodontal disease can be very distressing. Left untreated can lead to your teeth falling out!

Mikaela is highly experienced in the treatment and prevention of Periodontal disease.

  • Sometimes seeing a specialist is required such as a Periodontist, Orthodontist, Endodontist, Oral Surgeon or Paedodontist.

Whenever possible Brooke and Mikaela will try to provide treatment for you without the need to travel.

However, at times you might be best served by a specialist in Adelaide. We would discuss referrals at the time of your checkup or treatment.

Country Child Dental Scheme

Children will be eligible for subsidised Checkups, Cleans, Xrays, Mouth Guards, Fillings, Fissure Seals and Extractions at our clinic from the SA Dental Service. This scheme is for children not eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (Medicare) and are residents within a radius of the Clare District, since the SA Dental Service Clinic in Clare is shut.

We will always be clear with the costings for our treatments, and work with you to find the best option for you and your family.

Country Child Dental Scheme

Child Dental Benefits Scheme

This scheme covers part of the full cost of some basic dental services for children of eligible families. To find out more about the scheme, follow the link below to see if your child is eligible.

Payments and Payment Plans

We encourage fees to be paid on the day via HICAPS, EFTPOS or Bank Transfer.

Payment plans can be directly discussed via reception, with the practice partners. Patients can also use a “buy now, pay later” service but this involves a fee.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • For your information and planning, a new patient general checkup, clean and xrays will cost approximately $350. Call the clinic for further general fee advice.

An individualised treatment plan will be discussed with you at your checkup along with the associated costs. We will always work with you for the best outcome for your health and budget.

For children there are a number of subsidised schemes that can provide all or part of the cost of treatment.

For adults there is subsidy through SA Dental Service if you have an eligible card (contact SA Dental Service Wallaroo on (08) 7117 4492). Other patients can access support through Private Health Extras or DVA.

  • About 10-20% of people are afraid of the dentist. Please do not feel embarrassed about this.

We have special techniques to help alleviate fears and concerns. Brooke and Mikaela take special care to ensure your experience is as positive as possible.

Please let us know if you have specific fears (eg. needles, sound of the drill, smells, etc.).

  • Brooke is available to see patients 3 days a week, often during school hours, but will stay late if required (after wrangling her children). If available Brooke will come in after hours or on weekends in emergency situations (eg. tooth knocked out).

Mikaela is available 4 days a week, and is fulltime. She is able to see adults to plan initial treatment, provide hygiene prevention care. Mikaela also can see children for General Dentistry and if available, emergencies.

  • We have the latest in Intra-Oral Dental Xrays. Modern dental xrays use low dose radiation (equivalent to a 3 hour flight). Xrays are important for looking between teeth and under old fillings. They will pickup early signs of decay, which can (if treated) prevent tooth loose and the need for more expensive dental work. Most people are recommended to have dental xrays every 2 years if there are no issues.

If we are able to receive your dental records from your previous dentist, we may be able to avoid taking new xrays.

  • At Clare Dental Partners we will accept ALL private health, including Bupa. As a small local team, not a large corporate, we will not be applying to become a “preferred provider” for any insurance fund due to the restrictive nature of these contracts. Insurance companies which have “preferred provider” agreements do not select for the best dentist or advocate for the best treatment plans. If “Dental” is covered in your insurance plan with Bupa you will still get a rebate with us.

  • The first dental visit should be when teeth start to come through into the mouth, or by age 1, whichever comes first. Then you should take your child every 6-12 months for a dental check up.

Accepted Health Funds

Health funds will cover a significant portion of dental services, typically between 50-100% of the fees depending on your level of cover.

We are proudly independent and are not a preferred provider for health funds. We will always plan what is best for your health and budget.
